A DAY IN THE LIFE ... RIDING DANDY!

Hi Horse Pals,

I've been having some great summer rides with Dandy!! We've been doing some fun jumping courses and have also worked on our flatwork. We did a pattern of four circles interlocked, trot one, canter one, trot one, canter one. It was hard! We had to make sure that the circles were balanced and the right speed. But Dandy and I did great! We've also been working on leg yields.

We've been doing some fun jumping courses with some great bending lines and angles. Here are some photos:

Awesome Araya!!!! I just got a new kitten!!!! He is a grey tabby with a white chest. He is just barely 6 weeks old. On his legs he has stripes but on his belly, he has spots, he is SOO CUTE!!! I named him Maverick, after Bret Maverick in the movie, Maverick, because my kitten is such a little adventurer. My cousin, Emily got a kitten too, Mavericks sister, a black calico, who she named Starlight, Star for short. Right now Maverick is living with Emily though, because I have to wait until he gets a little bigger before I can bring him home, with Kitty, Rosie, Jewels and Josie, he would be killed no matter what. :( But I wish he could be here with me!! I will send you some pictures in once I take some.

BARN ANIMAL OF THE WEEK ~ CHALKTAH Hi Horse Pals, Our featured Barn Animal of the Week is.... Chalktah by Horse Pal Darby. Thank you Darby! Chalktah is a very cool dude! Barn Name: Chalktah Show Name: Unknown Gender: Gelding Breed: I really don't know Color: Dapple Grey Personality: I can't say that he was sweet, because he wasn't. That's why he got sold. But, I loved him, he was my favorite horse there, besides Denali. But I loved that horse, he was sooooo awesome!!! He was sooo muscular, and he could be sweet, I bet he could. Facts: Well Chalktah got ridden once or twice in the mountains hunting. But a couple years ago, he got sold to a Bucking Horse Company in Montana, because he wasn't ridable, but I bet he could have been ridden if somebody hired a pro trainer. Gosh I loved that horse.

BARN ANIMAL OF THE WEEK ~ SMOKEY Darby presents another Barn Animal of the Week, Smokey, a friendly giant. Barn Name: Smokey Show Name: Unknown Gender: Gelding Breed: Arabian Color: Dapple Grey Personality: Very sweet, Smokey was always a nice horse, he would let you brush and pet on him forever. Until he got moved to the Chaple Place, where he started being a little mean, and he doesn't let people touch him any more. Facts: Smokey liked me a lot, he followed me around, and never was mean, but things change. He got moved to the Chaple Place, along with all the other horses besides Chalktah, Salute and Denali, but now when I go to visit him, he doesn't let you touch him, and he is mean to the other horses.
