We received this email from Delaney and put our contributor and fellow Horse Pal, Darby on the story, and here it is! Enjoy!
I just wanted to tell you guys about a famous stallion called Dial A Red Rooster who not many people know about. He was one of the best barrel racers and stallions of that time.
I don't know much about him and will try to get some more info soon. He is not alive but his legacy lives on.
Dial A Red Rooster is a very famous barrel racer, although even I had to jog my memory to remember him. I remember hearing his name, and knowing that he was a stallion, and a very good barrel racer, but that's about it. He was a red dun quarter horse stallion. He was out of Little John Dial and Nancy Ann Smith. But he is not a purebred quarter horse, because of his grandparents on his mother's side. His grandpa was a thoroughbred and his grandma was a quarter horse. He died in 2005 and he had only sired 4 offspring, 2 colts and 2 fillies. That's about all the info I can find so far, too bad he isn't around today.
