BIRTHDAY FUN AT THE BARN

Hi Horse Pals ~

Today we had a barn birthday party for our friends, Samuel and Kelliann.  We had a balloon toss with super big balloons and Avery and Isabelle were the water balloon champions.  Samuel's sister, Gretchen made the most adorable horse cupcakes with a horse head and tail .... not only were they cute, they were delicious.  Birthdays at the barn are always so much fun!

I had a great ride today with Dandy ... we did serpentines and circles changing our gaits from trot to canter throughout the figures.  She felt great!

Avery had an excellent ride today, too - she worked on the canter with no stirrups and only one hand which really worked her balance.  She did a lot of work with no stirrups, including posting trot.  She had a great workout!

CALLING ALL HORSE LOVERS ... HORSE PALS CLUB FORMING

Hey Horse Pals!

My sister and I have started a Horse Pals Club and invite you all to join!  It's free and fun and fabulous!  You can send photos, favorite recipes, arts and crafts ideas ... whatever you'd like to share with your horse friends.  Photos can include you and your favorite animals, you in your favorite shirt or outfit, show photos, Halloween photos you name it!  We just made a new photo album called Horse Pals and that is where we'll put your photos.

So, Avery and I are going to start the club off sharing our own homemade shirts we made this week with our friends.  They were fun and easy to make and you could make them, too!  We each picked a plain white shirt or tank and used fabric paint and glue, along with rhinestones and buttons to decorate our shirts.  Some of our friends also used stencils and fabric and ribbons.  I made a 'Horses Rock' shirt and put painted grass and dirt spots all over the front and back and Avery wrote her name and a heart with gems ... we had so much fun making them and they turned out great!  

We can't wait to hear from y'all with all of your cool horse-and-tell!

STABLE MATES: NORTHERN CA

Hi Araya!

My name is Rory and I am 8 years old.  I live in Northern, California.  My horse is an 8 year old quarter horse bay mare.  Her registered name is Britannia Bay, but we call her Annie.  She is 15.2 tall.  Annie likes having her ears scratched and she loves molasses treats.  She makes a very strange face trying to chew every last bit of the molasses!  

I love riding too.  I just started jumping my horse.  I went cross country schooling a couple weeks ago and it was so fun!  I jumped a bank, a ditch and cantered through water.

I ride at a Three Day Eventing barn.  My barn friends are Katie, Cara, Gillian, Samantha and Kiran.  They like to ride too.  The barn dog's name is Brody.  Do you ever ride cross country?

I love animals too.  I have three dogs and two cats and one horse.

AMAZING JUMPING DAYS!

Hi Everyone ~ I've have been having so much fun jumping with Dandy!  This weekend, Avery and I rode with some of our friends and we had a blast!  We were playing 'follow the leader' and all kinds of fun games.  Lisa even gave us jumping courses and we took turns and watched each other. The weather was perfect and it was so nice to ride in cooler weather.

Dandy is really improving with her jumping ... she's doing great on her lines and verticals.  We have a lot of new jumps in our arena with new flowers and colors and she has been fine with all of the changes.  This week I jumped courses at the trot and then jumped them at the canter and she did great at both gaits!  I'm really working on keeping her pace consistent through the entire course.  I can't wait for another fun week of jumping.
